Stay in Church, Leave our schools..
Today October 04, 2016, Todd Starnes published a report on Fox News.com that a Government District in Georgia, USA has fired off directives to public school administrators ordering them to remove everything related to the Christian faith from the public schools. Below are excerpts from the letter sent to one of the public schools (East lake Elementary School)
“You are hereby directed to remove all items related to the Christian faith, such as crosses, printed bibles, angels, bible verses, printed prayers, and biblical quotations from the common areas, hallways, classrooms, and offices of East Lake Elementary school,”
“Further…religious and biblical references should not be included in notes to parents, email signature lines, or any other correspondence sent on behalf of East Lake Elementary School,”
To many persons, especially non Christians, this might seem normal: a development in the right direction. But it is clearly an act of rejection of the God of the Universe. It beats my mind how people and governments dare the Almighty. Scripture says:
the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the people and all them that dwell there in.
History has ample records of kings and governments who tried to stamp out Christianity and how everyone of them failed. However it is quite disturbing that the government of a country like America which is officially a Christian Nation, could become increasingly repressive towards Christianity. All through the ages, Satan, the arch enemy of God has continually used godless leaders and government to fight against God's work on the earth by persecuting the Church (Christian Faith) which is God's platform for the transfer of His knowledge, love and truth through out the generations of mankind. But the joy is that, this God is is sovereign and anything done against Him turns out to be for Him. As it is written:
Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord , and against his anointed, saying, let us break their bands asunder and cast away their bands from us.
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. (Psalms 2:1-4)
Be advised! if you are anti-Christianity, and you are using your position in government to fight the Christian Faith, you're kicking against the pricks: the harder you push your rebellion against God and His church, the quicker you destroy yourself. Whether you are doing it, openly, violently or systematically; one thing is Sure: in the long run, God will still win. But I pity you because you may never escape God's wrath and vengeance for aligning with satan in his struggle against God. But know this God always wins. Oppressors of the church come and go but the church remains. Go ask the likes of Nicolae Ceausescu of the Soviet Union, Mao of China, etc; ask them if there was anything they left undone in their efforts to stamp out Christianity. But the one who sits in the heavens had them in derision. He always does
The indiscriminate killings and persecution of Christians in Northern Nigeria and in other parts of the world is a battle against God and His anointed. Legalization of practices such as gay marriage, abortion, etc which clearly contradict Christian beliefs and God's design for mankind is a conspiracy against God by the kings of the earth, bringing countries into a state of national rebellion against God.
But what is our place as Christians in this battle:
- we must draw closer to God in earnestness: putting off every garment stained with sin and making a commitment to stand with God in holiness
- we must put our denominational differences and biases behind us and stand with unity of purpose in continuous kingdom spiritual warfare and intercessions for Christians in troubled zones.
- we must consistently resist with one voice, every government policy and action that threatens our Christian faith. Whether you are in government or not, take a kingdom stand.
- we must continually engage our weapon of faith boldly and with it, resist, silence and quench every rebellion and uprising against the kingdom.
- we must truly, fully and continually take our place as the light of the world; showing everyone within our sphere of influence the way out of the darkness in the world: Jesus
- we must understand and effectively engage our dual nature of the lamb and lion: meek and loving, yet, spiritually dangerous to the enemies of God.
